The Excel Add-in and the SolidWorks Add-in share the same license. The license can be activated on one or multiple computers depending on the allowed number of activations.
miniPDM is currently in Beta testing and does not require a license
Beta Test Activation
To activate a beta license for miniPM, go to the options by clicking:
- Options in miniPDM Excel Add-in’s ribbon
- Options in miniPDM SolidWorks flyout menu
Then select the About tab, leave the Key blank and click Activate:
The add-in(s) will be activated for a period of 30 days and can be extended until the end of the Beta Testing.

I have a trouble with the beta activation, when leaving the Key field blank and pressing activate I get the following errors:
– Application activated for: N/A (probably correct)
– Error 43: For assistance, please contact the support on SW.tips
